The Australian government has selected Austal, which is based in West Australia, to build a new fleet of patrol boats for the customs service, reports the Australian.
The eight planned Cape-class vessels will replace the aging fleet of Roebuck Bay-class boats (sometimes called the Bay class), which were also produced by Austal.
