Audit Uncovers Shortcomings In Navy Procurement

An Australian government audit has found a number of deficiencies in the navy's procurement process, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

The audit covered 20 projects worth more than Aus$23 billion (US$24 billion), including warship procurement, upgrades and two helicopter programs.

The report indicates a lack of communication between the navy, the defense agencies that identify needed equipment and those that purchase it causes confusion, delays and cost increases. ...
