European defense firm MBDA says its Aster air defense missile successfully intercepted a ballistic target during a recent test in France.

An Aster 30 Block 1 missile, developed for the French air force's Mamba medium-range air defense system (also known as the SAMP/T, or surface air moyenne portee terrestre), successfully destroyed the target, a mock medium-range ballistic missile, reported Eurosam.
