Security forces in Yemen have arrested 50 foreigners on suspicion of having links to Al-Qaida, Reuters reports.
The Saudi-owned Al-Hayat newspaper said that U.S., British, French and Malaysian nationals are among those arrested since the botched attempt to down a U.S. airliner over Detroit on Christmas Day.
One of the suspects is a 24-year-old Frenchman who reportedly came to Yemen in October to study Arabic despite being fluent in the language, authorities said.
