Army Uses New Technology Against Insurgent Transmissions

The U.S. Army says it has developed new technology to jam and intercept insurgent transmissions in Afghanistan, reports the Stars & Stripes.

The Communications Electronic Attack with Surveillance and Reconnaissance (CEASAR) system is encased in a rectangular metal box attached to a twin propeller Beechcraft King Air plane, said Army officials.

The system can intercept and jam transmissions from insurgent cell phones and radios with enough precision to allow friendly soldiers...
