Army Suspends Disarmament Operations; Ethnic Clashes On Rise

South Sudan has temporarily halted civilian disarmament operations in Jonglei state's Pibor county to clear the area of rebels, reports the Sudan Tribune.
Around 15,000 soldiers and police have conducted a disarmament campaign in Jonglei since mid-March, sparking problems with the Murle ethnic group in the region.
An increased number of attacks in the area have been attributed to a rebel group commanded by David Yau Yau.
