The Army has reactivated V Corps to strengthen command and control for U.S. missions in and around Europe, reports the Stars and Stripes.
The 635-strong unit is headquartered at Ft. Knox, Ky., and will maintain a forward command post in Europe consisting of 200 troops on rotation.
The location of the European command post has yet to be announced.
The corps is expected to be operational by the fall.
