The Colombian armed forces have been cracking down on illegal mining activities in the Amazon, reports the Daily Mail (U.K).
Activities last week were launched in the southern and eastern regions of Colombia, near the borders with Brazil and Venezuela, reported AFP.
A total of 600 security personnel, supported by 22 aircraft and almost a dozen ships took part, reported Fox News.
