The U.S. Army has issued new guidelines intended to speed up the processing of high-level valor awards, such as the Silver Star and Medal of Honor, reports the Army Times.
As it is, it can take months or years for the service to process such awards.
Under the new guidelines, once a unit has submitted paperwork to the next-highest command, each echelon will have 10 calendar days to endorse the award.
