An unanticipated budget surplus will allow the Estonian Ministry of Defense to buy additional self-propelled howitzers from South Korea, reports Estonian Public Radio. Several procurement programs in 2019 cost less than anticipated, freeing up 20 million euros (US$22 million), which will be spent on six more K9 howitzers, the Postimees (Estonia) newspaper reported on Oct. 3.
