The U.S. Army has decided to conduct an environmental assessment ahead of a planned underwater technology demonstration off the coast of Hawaii, reports the Dept. of Defense.
The demonstration of a remotely operated underwater munitions recovery system and munitions destruction technologies was scheduled for October, and will take place off the coast of Oahu at a sea munitions disposal site known as Ordnance Reef.
