Army Orders As Many As 1,000 Throwable Robots

A Minnesota company has received an Army contract to deliver up to 1,000 miniature robots, reports the company.

The $13.9 million contract with ReconRobotics of Edina, Minn., is designed to streamline the purchasing process for deploying Army and Marine Corps units and speed delivery of the ReconScout robots.

Deliveries under an initial order for 84 robots have already begun, said company officials on Wednesday.
