The U.S. Army has joined a Navy program to develop an airborne computing environment that would allow new software applications to be fielded quickly in various aircraft, Aviation Week reports.
The Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) program is designed to reduce the long process of introducing new capabilities through scheduled updates of individual operational flight programs, said Navy officials.
