Army, Maoists On Recruitment Drives

The army is expected to start recruiting new personnel following a Supreme Court decision that it views as a green light, reports the Press Trust of India.

The army plans to recruit around 3,500 new troops, including 250 officers, according to the service.

The Maoist opposition opposes the recruiting, arguing that it would breach the peace deal signed in 2007 by the government and the Maoists.
