Army Lets $309 Million Javelin Contract

The Pentagon has awarded Lockheed Martin a $309 million contract for Javelin missiles.

The work goes to Lockheed's Orlando missile operation in Florida and its teammate Raytheon, reported the Orlando Sentinel.

The shoulder-fired equipment will go to the Army, Marine Corps and the Foreign Military Sales program, said officials.

Work is scheduled to be completed in October 2012. The Army Aviation and Missile Command is the contracting activity.
