The Iranian army has launched surprise drills in the northwestern West Azerbaijan province, along the border with Turkey, reports the semi-official Fars news agency (Tehran).
The exercise kicked off early Wednesday in the country's Orumiyeh region, with a focus on combat readiness and mobility.
Rapid-reaction units, mobile and offense brigades and army aviation helicopters participated in the training, reported the semi-official Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA).
