Army Hits Militants Before They Can Strike In North Sinai

The Egyptian military says it has thwarted a planned militant attack in the restive North Sinai region, reports Daily News Egypt.
Seven militants were killed Wednesday in a pre-emptive strike by the army, said an army spokesman.
The army said it had received intelligence that "terrorist elements" were transferring weapons from Rafah to Sheikh Zuweid in anticipation of an attack on security forces.
Two weapon caches were found and destroyed, said the army.
