Army Gets 1st Female 2-Star General

In a first, the South Korean army has promoted a woman to the rank of major general, reports the Yonhap news agency (Seoul). On Friday, Brig. Gen. Kong Sun Young was promoted to a second star, becoming the first South Korean female officer to attain the rank. She has been named to head the army’s Aviation Operations Command.
