The U.S. Army has been testing a two-seat variant of the Husky mine-detection vehicle in Afghanistan, reports the Army Times.
Wheeled Husky vehicles have a V-shaped hull and drive in front of route-clearance teams. They feature ground-penetrating radar and metal detectors mounted to the front.
The standard one-seat vehicles require operators to drive while monitoring the radar and mine-detector and looking for command wires connected to improvised explosive devices (IEDs). ...
