Army Eyes Hummingbird UAVs For Afghan Duty

Army officials say the service expects to sign an agreement soon with Special Operations Command to borrow a A160 Hummingbird a vertical-takeoff-and-landing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for deployment to Afghanistan, Defense News reports.
While the Army has no formal requirement for such a UAV, the service is interested in developing a quick-reaction capability, said the project manager for unmanned aircraft systems.
