The U.S. Army, which is seeking to replace its combat uniforms, plans to test variants of a Marine camouflage pattern, the Army Times reports.
The Army aims to replace its three-color Universal Camouflage Pattern, which has been fielded since 2004. The pattern has been criticized for failing to blend in to surrounding environments.
At least three patterns are expected to be chosen: a woodland variant, a desert variant and a transitional variant.
