Army Component For Africa Command Stands Up In Italy

The Army component of the new U.S. Africa Command stood up during a ceremony this week in Vicenza, Italy, reports the American Forces Press Service.
The unit is being formed from the Southern European Task Force, which was deactivated during the ceremony.
Now known as U.S. Army Africa, the unit will focus on building relationships with African armies over the next year.
