The army chief of staff in the Comoros has been relieved of duty and put under house arrest for his alleged role in an assassination, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.
Gen. Salimou Mohamed Amiri has been linked to the June killing of Col. Combo Ayouba in Moroni, the capital of the Indian Ocean island nation.
A judge ordered the arrest after a court hearing.
