Germany is in the process of equipping its troops in Afghanistan with a wide range of gear to detect and destroy mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), Defense News reports.
The Bundeswehr has indicated that it will purchase seven systems, each consisting of a rebuilt Wiesel air-transportable light armored vehicle outfitted with special detection equipment.
