The Iraqi army has begun pulling its forces from Baghdad and transferring security responsibility to the police in the capital city, reports United Press International, citing local media.
The transfer began after the completion of logistical and technical training, according to officials cited by the al-Shorfa newspaper.
The official handover was pushed back several days after the military raised concerns about security.
