Army Awards Thermal Sight Contracts For CROWS, Stryker

BAE Systems says it has been awarded multiple contracts to provide thermal sights for the U.S. Army's Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) II and Stryker programs.

The contracts, totaling $38 million, are for the TIM1500 thermal imager, which allows soldiers to detect enemy targets while remaining protected inside their vehicles, company officials said.

Under the contract, BAE will provide the imagers to Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace of Norway.
