An explosion at a U.S. Army ammunition plant in Missouri on Tuesday killed one employee and injured four others, says the army, as reported by Reuters.
The blast took place at about 1 p.m., local time, at a primer mixing cell at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, said a spokesman for the military's munition command.
The building was rendered safe by authorities, said the army.
An investigation has been opened into the cause of the blast.
