The Indian army is working on a 10-year aviation modernization plan that calls for the acquisition of at least 350 new helicopters, reports the Print (India). The document calls for the introduction of two new utility helicopter types and three combat helicopter models. The first combat helicopters to enter service will be the Rudra, the armed variant of the Dhruv light helicopter, which is armed with a 20-mm cannon and 70-mm rockets.
