Armored Corps Equipped With 120-mm Penetrating Round

Israeli armored forces along the Gaza Strip have been equipped with a new 120-mm munition, according to Israel Military Industries (IMI).

The company's M339 high-explosive multi-purpose round, known as the Kalanit in Hebrew, was recently fielded with the Israeli Armored Corps.

The round was developed in response to an urgent request by the Corps based on lessons learned in the 2006 war with Hezbollah and 2008 operations in Gaza, said IMI.
