The Canadian Dept. of National Defense may not stick with its original plans for Arctic patrol ships, reports the Canadian Press.
The vessels have been controversial since they were announced in 2006 as part of a plan to put armed ice-capable ships in the Arctic to enforce Canadian sovereignty.
Current plans call for six light icebreakers to be built for Can$3.1 billion (US$2.9 billion).
The Defense Dept., however, has indicated that it might build fewer ships, or decrease...
