AQAP Strikes Army Near World Heritage Site

Al-Qaida's branch in Yemen has attacked two army positions in the country's southeast, reports India's Business Standard.
Friday's attacks targeted locations in Shibam and in Wadi Sir, in Hawdramawt province, a stronghold of Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsuala (AQAP), said an army officer cited by AFP.
The main attack took place at the historic town of Shibam, a UNESCO world heritage site known as the "Manhattan of the Desert."
