Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibraham has warned that Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin wants to invoke emergency powers in order to suspend Parliament and remain in power, reports the South China Morning Post.
On Friday, Yassin visited Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shahto to discuss declaring a state of emergency to suspend Parliament, said unnamed sources cited by Reuters. The sources did not give a reason for the request.
