Antonov Says It Will Bid In U.S. Tanker Competition

The Ukrainian state-run Antonov aircraft producer says it will bid on a multi-billion dollar U.S. Air Force tender for almost 180 tanker aircraft, RIA Novosti reports.
The tender, with an estimated value between $25 billion and $50 billion, was launched in January 2007 to replace Air Force Boeing KC-135 tankers. That competition was cancelled and restarted in 2008 following a protest by Boeing.
