The Defense Dept. has decided to boost the number of U.S. troops stationed in Germany, reports DoD News.
On Tuesday, the department said that an additional 500 servicemembers would arrive in Germany by the fall.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that the decision reflected the U.S. "commitment to Germany and the entire NATO alliance" during a visit to the German Ministry of Defense.
The move reverses a planned cut announced by the Trump administration in June 2020.
