The United States has handed over four F-16 fighters to the Egyptian air force, reports the U.S. Embassy in Cairo.
The jets arrived at the Cairo West Air Force Base on Oct. 29 following a 14-hour flight from the U.S.
The U.S. is also providing follow-on maintenance and training for Egyptian pilots and air crews, said the embassy release.
The F-16s complete a US$3.2 billion order for 20 F-16 Block 52 fighters made in 2009, reported Ahram Online (Egypt).
