Turkey has initiated a new program to design and build a submarine domestically, reports Defense News. Under the MILDEN program, Turkey plans to build six submarines that would enter service in the 2030s, reported Forbes. MILDEN is a Turkish acronym for “national submarine.” The submarines are expected to include an air-independent propulsion system, advanced heavy torpedoes and guided missiles.
