The Turkish government says it intends to open an embassy in East Jerusalem as part of Ankara's call to recognize it as the Palestinian capital, reports Reuters.

President Tayyip Erdogan announced the decision on Sunday, days after hosting a summit of Muslim leaders in Istanbul.
