Angola has just assumed the rotating two-year presidency of the Council for Peace and Security of the African Union, reports the Angola Press Agency.
As of Sunday, Arcanjo do Nacimento, the Angolan ambassador to Ethiopia and the U.N. Economic Commission for Africa, is the chairman of the body.
The goal of the council is to promote peace, security and stability in Africa.
