On June 17, 2026, Anduril announced it was selected by the U.S. Air Force to enter the production phase of the Collaborative Combat Aircraft program with its FQ-44 semi-autonomous fighter aircraft. The contract includes an initial group of aircraft for continued testing and evaluation, while also creating a framework for future purchases over the coming years.

The FQ-44 is designed with long-range capabilities, short-field takeoff and landing performance, a large combat radius, and sufficient payload capacity to support combat missions.

To support large-scale production, Anduril developed its manufacturing processes alongside aircraft development, with its Arsenal-1 facility capable of producing up to 150 aircraft annually. This combination of advanced autonomy, scalable production, and adaptable design is intended to provide the Air Force with a flexible and rapidly deployable combat capability.
