On Oct. 12, 2026, Anduril unveiled Steelfin, a family of mass-producible surface-to-air interceptors intended to counter large numbers of low-cost threats without depleting inventories of expensive legacy missiles. The company plans to start flight testing next year and aims to build several thousand interceptors per year in the near term.
Steelfin features a two-stage design that combines interchangeable solid rocket boosters with a common terminal interceptor used across all variants. The missiles are designed to be compatible with existing launchers, including the Mk 41 Vertical Launch System, as well as fielded fire control systems.
