Amid Violent Protests, Border Guards Ordered To Boost Security In Buenos Aires

President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has ordered the deployment of thousands of Argentine border guards in Buenos Aires to enhance security in the capital where violent protests have been rampant, reports Mercopress (Uruguay).

Operation Guard Watch will include 6,000 border guards and 443 patrol vehicles who will take on organized crime in greater Buenos Aires beginning on Jan. 1, according to Kirchner.
