Amid Heightened Tensions, Naval Drills Planned With U.S.

South Korea and the United States will hold a joint large-scale naval exercise in the Yellow Sea next week, reports the Korea Times.

The exercise comes about two months after North Korea allegedly sank a South Korean corvette with a torpedo.

Participants from the U.S. 7th Fleet are the aircraft carrier George Washington (CVN-73), nuclear attack submarines, Aegis warships and amphibious assault vessels to take part in the training.
