American commanders have been pressing for the reopening of supply routes through Pakistan and to expand other logistic routes in Central Asia in preparation for the U.S. military's withdrawal from Afghanistan, reports the Army Times.
The Pakistani government closed cargo routes linking Karachi to Kabul after a controversial NATO airstrike in November killed more than 20 Pakistani soldiers.
