American, N. Korean Officers Talk In Panmunjom

Military officers representing the U.S. and North Korea met Thursday in the truce village of Panmunjom to discuss the March sinking of a South Korean warship, the Voice of America News reports.
The meeting at the colonel-level lasted 90 minutes, said officials from the U.N. Command in Seoul, which monitors the armistice that ended fighting in the Korean War.
The main goal was to clear the way for general officers from the two sides to meet, said officials.
