A Muslim cleric born in the United States has appeared in a video released to the media by the Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) terrorist group, CNN reports.

Anwar al-Awlaki has appeared in other terrorist videos, but never before in official AQAP footage.
