The king of Bahrain has backed a constitutional amendment passed by the Parliament authorizing military courts to try civilians, reports the BBC.
Under the amendment approved Monday by King Hamad, the courts can try any civilians accused of threatening the security of the state. Both houses of Parliament pass the action several weeks ago.
