Communist rebels are believed responsible for the Friday ambush that killed seven Philippine soldiers in the Mountain province of Luzon, report GMA News.
The troops were on their way to coordinate a medical mission when they were attacked, said military officials.
According to the military, the New People's Army rebels also stole four M16 rifles and two M203 grenade launchers.
