NATO has taken its first step toward replacing its fleet of airborne warning and control system (AWACS) aircraft, reports Defense News.
On June 29, the U.S. government published a solicitation designed to prepare American companies for an upcoming call for bids, said alliance officials.
In the study, companies will develop concepts for the replacement for review by the allies, who will decide what the replacement system looks like.
