Spanish police have arrested an Algerian-born U.S. citizen suspected of helping to finance Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), Reuters reports.
Mohamed Omar Debhi, 43, was arrested on Tuesday in Barcelona for allegedly sending 60,000 euros ($81,660) to Algeria, where the money was distributed to AQIM cells, said police.
Debhi transferred the money to an Algerian citizen named Toufik Mizi, who fled Spain in 2006 after being accused of belonging to a terrorist organization,...
