Al-Shabaab Positions Come Under Fire

Kenyan troops and allied Somali government forces have attacked Al-Shabaab positions near the rebel-held town of Afmadow in southern Somalia, reports the Shabelle Media Network (Somalia).
The forces seized militant positions Wednesday on the outskirts of the town, said witnesses.
Troops have been fighting against the Al-Qaida-linked group in the Afmadow region for about a month, said residents.
